Hi, I’m Galyn. Associate Marriage and Family Therapist and the Healing Arts Director at Code and Canvas.
After a decade working at technology companies like Google, Facebook, and Pinterest, I quit my job to pursue a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Using biological neuroscience as my guide and the courage, insight, and wisdom of my clients as my inspiration, I have learned so much about the nature of human suffering and the most effective ways to heal it.
Through my internship with San Mateo County’s Youth Behavioral Services team, I discovered a love for working with adolescents and families coping with adversity, intergenerational trauma, and systemic discrimination. As an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (Registration #108329, Supervised by Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Jamie Marcus #84462), I currently serve adolescents, adults, families, and couples at Code and Canvas, the nonprofit where I work. When I am not seeing clients or running mental health workshops with other healing artists in the community, I work to raise money for Code and Canvas, so we can offer all of our healing arts services on a full sliding scale, because I think that everyone deserves the best possible healthcare and support available, regardless of their ability to pay.
